Part 3: The “Days and Nights” of the Mayan Calendar

In the previous two posts about the Mayan Calendar we learned about the 9 underworlds. The diagram of the nine underworlds as labeled by Carl Johan Calleman is provided below. In part 2 we learned how time accelerates by a factor of 20 as we enter each new underworld. We are currently in the 8^th or Galactic Underworld.

In this post will discuss how each of the 9 underworlds is composed of 7 “days and nights” or 13 “heavens”

Each underworld is a cycle of Time. Each cycle is made up of smaller units of Time. These are often called the “13 heavens.” Carl Johan Calleman calls them the 7 “days and nights”. Each underworld phenomenon passes through these cyclic phases.

On November 7, 2009 we entered the 6^th night of the Galactic Underworld. That means we entered what Calleman calls  the “fine tuning” of the Galactic Underworld “protoform.” We are integrating everything that has developed through this 12.8-year cycle. The Galactic Underworld blossoms into fruition in November of 2010.

Here in Table 1 is Calleman’s chart of the 13 heavens or 7 days and nights. Each is listed with corresponding energetic influences as well as the Aztec gods and goddesses associated with them.

Table 2 below shows the two most recent underworlds. It also details the future 9^th, called the Universal Underworld. This chart illustrates the acceleration of Time.  The epochs of “days and nights” become increasingly shorter as we move forward in time. In the Planetary Underworld each is 19.7 years and in the Universal Underworld they are accelerated to a mere 20 days each. Each of the nine underworlds will culminate in 2011. (Please note that Calleman ends the Mayan Calendar in 2011 rather than the well-known end date of Dec. 21, 2012)

Table 2 above also lists Calleman’s association of the origination and evolution of telecommunications through the Planetary Underworld’s days and nights. According the Calleman this movement of days and nights can be applied to any phenomena including economics, philosophy, and consciousness. This is not only a human centered idea, Table 3 below details the wave of cycles moving through the Mammalian Underworld

Barbara Hand Clow, author of The Mayan Code, a work inspired by Calleman’s work,  describes the days and nights as “wave movements that alternate between creations and integrations.” The nights are the integration times. The seed of the theme of the underworld is sown on the first day, it’s subtle influence appearing in the previous underworld, and then matures throughout the cycles of the underworld.

These subtle movements can be detected and interacted with and may be very helpful to keep track of as we enter into the final Universal Underworld.
